Meditate

Meditation is a great way to defrag your mind, relax and get out of your thoughts.  If you meditate by paying attention to your breath, there is an added bonus of connecting with the body right away. Feeling your physical body is necessary for presence. You can also do this by putting your consciousness on your hands, your feet or the top of your head so that you begin to feel the energy inside. Then, let any thoughts just float on by.

Get Active

Another way to stop the mind activity is to do something active. If you are engaged in a passive activity like sitting and flipping channels, get up and take a walk or a run. Do yoga or shoot hoops. While not very active, taking a relaxing bubble bath can lend itself to mindfulness and stimulate the senses. Basically, we’re telling you to get out of your head and into your body. It will help focus attention on your physical self, halt the worry cycle, and reset your day.
