You’re on the path. You are reading our book and starting to lose weight, or you have simply adopted healthier habits. You are sleeping more now, feeling better about yourself, and you finally feel like a separate human being, distinct from the little person you brought into the world weeks or months ago. As you get back to your pre-pregnancy shape, you will feel better each day. Take time to achieve your goal. A bit of patience goes a long way!
Your body will need time to get back to normal.
- Be patient.
- Meditate daily on the reasons why you want that body back.
- Think about making your new healthy habits a lifestyle, something that will not only create a better life for you but for your family as well.
Keep in mind that when you take care of yourself, it affects those around you. When you feed yourself well, you will probably also be feeding your family better. Healthy living is contagious!
Whether this is your first baby, or you have other children, you will want to incorporate healthy habits as a lifestyle.
Next week, we will give you tips on how to incorporate these habits so that your entire family benefits!
Congratulations! You had a baby! And we know you want to lose the weight, but first, it is important to nurture yourself.
You are nurturing your baby, doing what is best for him or her, sleeping when you can grab a few minutes, and probably not cooking as much as you had in the past. So your nutrition suffers, you are tired from lack of sleep, and when someone tells you to exercise, you laugh. Who has time to do that?
And it would be too much of a surprise for your body after all it has been through to rush to the gym once the doctor gives you the green light. It took you 9 months to get there, so it will take time to get your body back. So what do you do now?
- Take a walk.
- Take a nap when the baby does.
- Revive an old passion.
- Sit outside and soak up the sun.
- Read a book.
- Call a friend.
- Get a massage or a manicure.
- Do anything that makes you feel good.
Whether you just had a baby, or you are experiencing something else that takes you off the path of good nutrition and exercise, slow down first. Examine your life and daily routine.
Instead of thinking about “losing weight,” think about “feeling good.” Eating clean and drinking more water will result in increased energy. And above all, don’t attempt anything until you are caught up with your sleep. You must take care of yourself before you begin to reshape your body.
Of course, we will hold your hand every step of the way. For now, just focus on wellness and enjoying these first memorable weeks with your new baby.
Our next post will focus on getting your mind ready for weight loss!
We have not stopped writing or blogging. But lately we’ve been pre-occupied and are on sort of an unplanned semi-hiatus. We had experienced a number of changes in our lives between September of 2013 and now. They are mostly good things, but these circumstances have sadly left us with less time to work on Everything Noetic.
We would like to share some of those changes as we both feel very blessed. Rhonda’s son Ian, who is also our illustrator, is getting married in June and Sandrine will be welcoming a new baby boy into the world, also in June!
Have you noticed the synchronicity in that story? We do, but it doesn’t surprise us anymore. Shortly after we met and decided to do this work, we noticed that the timing of events in our lives were uncannily and weirdly coincident. For instance, we each received calls for interviews this past fall on the same exact day. We accepted the offers that were made as a result of those calls, and we are both still working in these positions. The universe had plans for us that we never imagined! Can you relate? Do you notice coincidences in your life? Please share your stories with us!
And look out for our periodic posts throughout the summer and some exciting announcements. Also, don’t hesitate to email us anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org! We love hearing from you!
